A look at our week

We usually have very busy schedules.   As the kids have gotten older, we have gotten busier.   They are into so many different activities.   I really enjoy it.   I love seeing them interact with other kids and see how much they truly love doing these activities.    Mondays they have Karate.   They are testing for green belt red stripe soon!   They do karate with their dad.   I tried joining in on the fun but didn't feel comfortable taking karate.   BUT,  I love watching them and see them succeed at hard breaks and routines.    Tuesday morning are our run around days.   We try to schedule all appointments on this day.   It doesn't always work out that way.   Tuesdays are filled with liturgical dance, tap class, and piano lessons.   Starting in November there will also be voice lessons added onto that day.    Tuesday evenings we try to keep free to spend as a family.  Wednesdays we have book club in the morning.   In the evenings they have hip hop, church, and karate.   Most of the time they skip karate because its the same time as church.     Thursdays we have co-op (every other week.)   My son has Boy Scouts in the evening.    Friday evenings we do a youth outreach ministry.  Saturdays I work and my children and husband go to karate.   This day is ALWAYS filled with some kind of activity as well.   We rarely have a free Saturday.   Sundays, we have church.    That is our typical schedule and often times we have other things scheduled in as well.   We have tried so hard not to be busy but sometimes its just impossible.     We do all subjects every day except for Tuesday and the Thursdays that have co-op.   On Tuesdays we do Math, English, typing, current events and Greek.    On co-op Thursdays they only have to do Greek.  Co-op runs like a normal school day so to add extra work once we get home is a bit overwhelming.   We just take the rest of the day to relax and have fun.     Every other day we do every subject.   For science and History I allow them to pick the subject they want to study.   This year we are trying the lapbook approach for those two subjects.   So far they are loving it.   I may post some pics when they get done with their lapbooks.     Have a blessed week.
