My husband and I took a little trip this past weekend. It was so nice to get a chance to spend some time together just him and I. We went to a local ski resort that had their autumn festival. We had a blast. We went summer tubing, bowled 2 games, played mini golf, went to the arcade, rode the ski lift, and ate some really yummy loaded baked potatoes! We bought the kids some little trinkets and my hubby picked up something for himself. He bought a blacksmith puzzle. He played with that thing all night at the hotel!!
It was a big hit once we got home as well. He had the kiddos and his siblings trying it out. It is very entertaining.
We also went to a farm. It was so much fun to just relax and enjoy each other. We did the corn maze which only took us about 40 minutes to get through a 5 acre corn maze!!! Not bad time at all. We also played some mini golf at the farm, looked at the Llamas, and our most favorite part- the SLINGSHOTS! They had a row of slingshots with tennis balls. They had three targets set up on the hill. We had a blast until we realized that there were a bunch of kids waiting in line for their turn.....Then we had to give up our slingshot! LOL.
We just went away for 2 nights but it was a great "vacation". We stayed at a hotel that had an indoor pool. We were very excited about this. So we went to the pool the first night just to realize that the water was not real warm and neither was the room where the pool was located. We still swam. We still acted like little children playing and goofing around. Then we froze like Popsicles all the way back to our hotel room!!!! We really did enjoy it though. We had the pool all to ourselves (probably because it was so darn cold!)
The next day we went to a zoo. This place was very cool! They have tubes going into almost all of the cages so you can feed the animals. Some only ate carrots and others ate the animal food that you could buy at the front desk. We bought a cup of food at first but quickly realized that wasn't enough so we went back and bought a bag of food. They also had places that you could put a quarter in and get a handful of cheerios for the animals who wouldn't eat the regular animal food. We fed camels, bears, monkeys, cows, zebras, goats, horses, and many more. I can't wait to take my kids to this place. They will love it. We will be sure to buy at least 4 bags of food before we venture out!
Anyway, I had such a lovely weekend. The sun was shiny and there was not much rain at all. It was a bit chilly but nothing a nice, cuddly, warm sweatshirt couldn't fix. Thankful for another year with my husband and looking forward to many more!
Blessings,
Crisitnce
P.S. I will try to post some pics later.
