5 days until Christmas?

Wow.  It's been a while since I have blogged.   Every time I thought about it,  I really didn't know what to write.  Nothing seemed to exciting to blog about it.   Our lives have been busy trying to juggle Christmas parties, dinners,  Christmas play practices, ect.

We celebrated my birthday a few weeks ago.   My family bought me the game, Quelf!   That is an amazingly fun game!  Seriously, we played it non stop the whole week of my birthday!!!    I am so thankful for my family and for the chance at another year.   I am so blessed.

My sons birthday is coming up in a few weeks.   He will be 12.  Where does the time go??   I can't believe my youngest is almost 12.   I also can't believe that its almost 2014.   Life goes way too fast.

My kids, my dad, and I all went up to the nursing home to see my grandmother.   We had a good time listening to some live music, then had some snacks.   I loved watching her and all the other old folks there.  Some of them were singing along to all the songs,  one was sucking on a lollipop,  some were falling asleep, and some were just quietly sitting in their wheelchairs listening.   It really struck me,  sitting there watching all these folks.   At one point, they were little children.   At one point they were young and vibrant.   Now they are to the point were life slows down and the big highlight is going into the cafeteria to listen to a band play some oldies music.    Some day I will get to that point.   Life really does go fast.   I remember being a young child, a teen, a young mom, and now even though I am not OLD,   life keeps moving and its going quicker than I would like.   To see that my babies are both almost teenagers, and soon they will be out of the house starting their own lives.    It really opened my eyes.   Even still,  I am thankful for each day I get to spend with them while they are still at home and while I am still young enough to get up and do things with them.   I am thankful I had the chance to hang out with my grandmother,  you just never know when someone will take their last breath.   Until then,  I will try to enjoy everyone and try to slow down a little and not let a busy life, eat away all my time!!

We also had a Christmas dinner at my in-laws.   That was a nice time.   We played some fun games, had dinner, exchanged presents, then the kids all went outside and enjoyed the 9 inches of snow that was falling from the sky.   I don't know what we'd do without snow!!!

Anyway,  that is our life at this point.   I will try to write again soon....
